24 December 2024
As 2024 comes to a close, we take a moment to reflect on the great things that we have achieved over these last 12 months.
We are grateful for what our amazing team has achieved this year, and we are very excited to look to next year for more exciting things to come.
Of course, we couldn’t do anything without the support of our fantastic clients, and we are truly inspired by their success each and every day.
To name just a few of our highlights this year in 2024, we:
- Welcomed the trade mark and law practice groups of Maxwells (“MAXPAT”), including James Maxwell and Hayley Coyle, to the established and respected IP practice of IP Solved. This transition has been a success and the clients have continued to be provided with the support, personal service, and expertise they experienced in the past. The team at IP Solved has welcomed all the new clients to the firm and continues to be entrusted with the protection and enforcement of their intellectual property matters.
- Attended the ECTA 42nd Annual Conference on 19 June 2024 in Antwerp, Belgium. With more than 1500 members, coming from all Member States of the EU and beyond, ECTA promotes the knowledge and professionalism of the intellectual property law community in the fields of trade marks, designs, copyright and other intellectual property rights, within the European Union. Ken McInnes is an active member of ECTA’s Publications Committee, and he also participated in the ECTA Autumn Meeting in Seville, Spain in mid-October.
- IP Solved filings grew by more than 20%, in a year that saw very substantial reductions in trade mark filings across most IP firms in Australasia. We are pursuing new strategies to continue and expand upon that success in 2025. We are proud to support so many amazing clients as they expand globally.
- Our associated law firm IP Solved Legal has seen a very busy and successful year with substantial growth. We are pleased to say that their strategic, pragmatic solutions-based approach has allowed its client to achieve effective outcomes in all cases.
- Len Mancini was interviewed by the ABC in relation to his strategic advisory work for our internationally successful client MCo Beauty. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-07-04/mcobeauty-explains-beauty-dupe-process-product-development/104052268
- Welcomed New Staff Members to the Firm. We are so lucky and honoured to have some new staff join our team this year in our admin department.
- Celebrated More Long-Term Staff Anniversaries. We had the great honour of thanking Jane McMurray for her 19 years of exceptional service with IP Solved this year and also to Galina Singer for her outstanding support to the firm over the last 10 years.
- Farewell. Our colleague Helen Peachey retired after more than 25 years with us. Helen brought extensive experience both in-house and in private practice in the UK and Hong Kong to us and was a valued advisor to many of our clients.
- Welcomed a new human into the world. We are so excited to have welcomed the birth of a new son for one of our trade mark paralegals this year. Congratulations Mollee, and we look forward to seeing you back in the office after your parental leave.
This really is just a small summary of all the great achievements we made this year.
Thank you to everyone we have worked with this year for giving us your trust. We don’t take that responsibility lightly.
Wishing you all a lovely and well-earned holiday. We look forward to catching up with you in 2025.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
