George is a Principal and Patent Consultant at IP Solved, bringing more than 40 years of experience in the intellectual property profession. He began his career in 1984 after graduating with Honours in Genetics from the University of New South Wales and has since built a reputation as a trusted adviser to clients ranging from individual innovators and startups to major national and international corporations.
George’s work spans every stage of the IP lifecycle. He provides advice on the patentability of new products and processes, develops and implements IP strategies, drafts and prosecutes patent applications, and guides clients through issues of infringement, validity, and opposition. His practice also extends to the management of trade mark and design portfolios, ensuring clients have a coherent and commercially sound approach to protecting their intellectual assets.
Over the course of his career, George has spent more than three decades at a leading IP firm before establishing his own practice to deliver a more personalised and client-focused service. In 2025, he joined IP Solved, where he continues to support his longstanding clients while contributing his expertise to the broader team.
In addition to his professional practice, George has been a lecturer in the Master of Intellectual Property program at the University of Technology Sydney since 2001, where he teaches the advanced subject Drafting of Patent Specifications, a capstone requirement for those seeking registration as patent attorneys. His enduring interest in new technologies and applied sciences, combined with decades of practical experience, allows him to provide clients with advice that is both technically informed and commercially grounded.
